Room Cleaning Battle

About a week ago it was time to clean up our house. We have a room designated for toys. Not only was the bedroom a disaster but the playroom was even worse. I told my oldest when we got up that we would be picking up the house today.

She happens to be a very strong willed little girl. She has done things like choose to sit in time out for an hour and a half because she would rather do that then to pick up a banana that she had thrown on the ground. Cleaning up is one of my biggest struggles with her. She would rather lose all the toys in the room than to pick them up.

Well I had gotten this oil called Motivation in my order last month because I felt like I needed some and I also scanned for it on the Zyto.

Like I said I only mentioned it once when she got up. Then we had breakfast. Then I thought I would put a drop of this blend on her feet. She went in the playroom and did not come out until lunch time. I figured that she had just been playing. She told me she cleaned up. (sure) So I go in and the entire playroom was clean!!! And then she shows me her room and it is clean too!!! I almost fell over in disbelief. It was so fun to tell her how proud of her I was!

Unbelievable.

Until next time ...

Back To The Blog!

I am excited and ready to get back to the blog!

I took a break all last week as our community went through such a difficult time after the tornado outbreaks. It just hasn't felt like the right time to be blogging about my daily experience when so many lost their homes and lives. My heart and prayers are with you.

I just wanted to let those in our area know that Young Living is here to help. They are offering free shipping and products to help (Trauma Life, Thieves Household Cleaner) for those effected. Just call their customer care team to let them know you need help.

I have some great posts coming up for this week!

Have a great Memorial Day and thank you to all who serve!

Until next time ...

Focus Friday: PanAway

PanAway is an awesome blend that comes in the Everyday Oils kit. It is amazing when used on areas of pain such as muscle aches and headaches and other pains as well. I have even used it to help with pain right behind my ear.

Here is what the Essential Oils Pocket Reference has to say about it:

"This very popular blend reduces pain and inflammation, increases circulation, and accelerates healing. It relieves swelling and discomfort from arthritis, sprains, muscle spasms and cramps, bumps, and bruises."

I feel personally that this is a must have blend! I use it for my own aches and pains, and also love having it on hand for all the adventures with my kids that lead to getting hurt. It is a must have for my mommy first aid kit!

Until next time ...

Allergy Relief

I decided to try a tip from a Testimonial Tuesday. I went to my local store and picked up a package of capsules so I can make my own.

I have been experiencing a very itchy and runny nose in the mornings. So, I decided to try 2 drops of Lavender in a capsule.

All I did was open up the capsule, drop in two drops of oil, close it back up and take it. I am the world's biggest skeptic, so I thought I would just take it and I had no expectation.

NO LIE within about 10 minutes my nose QUIT running and itching. It was so abrupt that I stopped and thought about it and realized it was the Lavender in capsule that had to have done it! That was yesterday. I had the same experience today! Within 10 minutes it quit.

I feel so much more confident in treating my allergies with some Lavender than with taking a chemical filled pill. That's my own personal opinion. I never would take a daily medication for allergies because of that. I just don't like putting synthetic medicines in my body daily. So, this may change my life a little ... or a lot.

Yahoo!!!

Today's Miracle

Some of you may know that I work in a child care setting with infants. It is the best job! I am in with my own baby too which is awesome.

Well let me share what happened today. We had one of our babies that started to get fussy. With this baby, once we reach a certain point, there will be NO calming down. Unfortunately, that is right where we were headed.

Then I remembered that I had my oils with me since my older daughter had a cough today. I took the Peace and Calming blend, and placed it on the actual swing on each side of where the baby's head was at.

Within 5 minutes, the baby was calmed down! Not just calmed down, but swaying SILENT in the swing. This went on for a while until the baby then fell asleep. This has NEVER happened before!!! My co-teacher and I just sat there watching in complete disbelief for almost an hour.

That stuff is amazing. And I am always amazed at how well it works!

Until next time ...

Sizzling Sunburn

I went with my 4 year old on her field trip to the park on Monday. I am so blessed to work at a job where I can be with my kids. My baby came along too.

You know how it is when you are a tired mom. You are so concerned about your kids and don't think twice about yourself. I had made sure both kids were slathered in sun protection, and totally forgot about myself. I stood in the shade a lot that day so I didn't think much of it.

Boy was I wrong!!!

I started to treat it with olive oil and lavender and frankincense. I did that once before bed. The next morning I got up and treated with the same mix every 2 hours. That was my plan at least. But when you are busy being a mom sometimes you just don't take care of yourself the way you should! So I really ended up doing this treatment about 4 times that first day.

Here is what it looked like only 48 hours later!

It's pretty amazing. The shoulder redness is completely gone. My neck still only has a little left. The best part is that My skin did not burn when I was sleeping or when I would move my arms. That was great. I feel like it helped speed up my healing a LOT.

I won't forget to use sunscreen again this summer! I have a recipe to make some using oils and will post that soon.

Until next time ...

Deodorant Recipe

I have known for some time about the dangers of deodorants. Have you? Take a look at this image from this website.

You can also read more about it here and here. You get the point. And I did too. But here is my problem. I can't find anything else that I could use where I didn't end up stinky at the end of the day. I tried natural deodorants too.  So even knowing what I know, I continued to use those awful products.

My husband and I came up with a recipe to try. I used it being outside for 4 hours in 90 degree heat. It worked!!! We finally finally have a working option to try and get us off of our addiction to these nasty chemicals!

The recipe:

We first dab on some apple cider vinegar. This kills bacteria so that it helps with any odor. When you sweat it reacts with the bacteria and makes a smell. If there are no bacteria then there is no smell. I finished it off by applying a drop of Lemon oil over it. It is also antibacterial and has a nice scent. I had tried these things separately but it did not work as well as when I did them together. You can read more about other antibacterial oils to try as deodorants in this article.

We are going to make it convenient. We ordered a couple of 4 ounce glass spray bottles off of Amazon. We are going to keep our mixture in there and just use a few sprays for a quick option in the morning. How exciting!

Until next time ...
